Mountain Springs Lake Resort is one of my all-time favorite wedding venues. You might have seen another adorable wedding I shot there, here. It’s just a magical place where the beauty of the natural surroundings take your breath away. It’s a little bit of heaven for photographers because there are so many fantastic backdrops–lake, towering pines, open fields. The biggest challenge is deciding which of the gorgeous spots to take advantage of!
On Matt & Cassie’s wedding day, we definitely wanted to enjoy the outdoors, but the weather didn’t want to cooperate. As the bride and maids were getting ready, the rain fell more steadily and the skies got extremely dark. We managed a quick first look under umbrellas, and the ceremony was moved indoors. Despite bad weather, Cassie’s and Matt’s smiles set the tone for the day. They savored each moment with each other, and their family and friends. And then, as the ceremony ended, the sun broke through in time for some very special golden hour photos!
I wish Cassie & Matt all the love in the world, through sunshine and rain!
