Even before 2020, I was noticing quite a growing trend toward micro wedding photography at smaller, more intimate weddings. Some couples just aren’t into the idea of a big, loud celebration. A lot of my couples are finishing professional degrees; busy in their careers. Some would rather save up for a down payment on their first house, or a really amazing travel experience. Whatever the reasons, I love witnessing these small, intentional unions.
Julie and Mike might well have decided to plan a bigger, traditional style wedding, but they just didn’t want the stress that goes along with all that. They wanted relaxed and intimate, and I think they got exactly that at the gorgeous little jewel box of a venue, Bridgeton House on the Delaware.
What would Julie say to couples on the fence about a “big” vs micro wedding? “Do the whole elopement thing. We had such an enjoyable time and didn’t have to stress over a single thing. And we’ll never regret the quality time we had with our parents along.”
I think that’s pretty wonderful. Congratulations Julie & Mike!
