Timeless Winter elegance at the Mansion at Natirar
Megan and Will’s wedding at the Mansion at Natirar was all about timeless black tie elegance and subtle holiday touches that set the mood for their early festive season wedding.
The weather was rainy, but nothing could dampen the couple’s spirit! Natirar is special to Megan’s family, and we took advantage of the many gorgeous rooms in the Mansion to sneak away for some incredible portraits.
On a walk through of Natirar the week before the wedding, I pre visualized some special locations for Megan and her dad Michael’s special moment together, as well as the perfect spot for Megan and Will’s first look. When we needed a rain plan, we were ready! (For more of my time-tested rainy wedding day advice, read this.)
The classic ceremony at Christ the King in New Vernon, NJ honored everything about the couple, their family and their faith. It always feels special to photograph ceremonies in this lovely sanctuary with bright, crisp whites and blues, and I loved seeing it dressed up for the Christmas season.
After a ribbon wand send off, it was back to Natirar to celebrate! A quick trip through the traditional Naval sword arch as a nod to Will’s military service, and it was onto cocktail hour for the newlyweds.
Megan and Will’s elegant event was capped off by heart-felt toasts and lots of dancing. I loved capturing the fun with my Holga film camera, which always adds to the spontaneous feel of the party!
Cheers to Megan and Will!
