Kaitlin, Doug and I first connected when they were considering a local venue for their elopement. When their original location fell through, they asked me to help them make a list of new options. They mentioned that the Lehigh Valley was special to them, so I started brainstorming venue ideas right away.
In the end, they booked the historic Sayre Mansion in Bethlehem, PA, and it was absolutely perfect. I was also able to help Kaitlin and Doug connect with some amazing local wedding vendors that made their day so special. (At this point in my career I know all the best and sweetest wedding vendors. If you need a few recommendations, let me know!)
Doug & Kaitlin started by getting ready together, followed by a meaningful ceremony in the front salon at the Sayre that included handwritten vows and the red thread of fate tradition. After the ceremony, they took a moment to cut their cake and sip some champagne.
We timed Kaitlin & Doug’s portraits for golden hour around historic Bethlehem, a town they love. Elopements are always really fun to photograph because couples can make their timelines as un-hurried as they want. The only schedule that matters is what feels right to them in the moment. We headed to the Bethlehem Area Public Library plaza where the magnolias cooperated by putting on a perfectly timed show of early spring blooms for the happy couple. As the sun set, they savored the panoramic view overlooking all of Bethlehem, then literally rode off into the sunset together, and I imagine quite happily ever after!
Big thanks to Doug & Kaitlin for trusting me with their top secret elopement plans. I just adored witnessing their day. Such an honor!
